Several BMW sedans and coupes have recently taken top honors in a variety of luxury car comparisons hosted by independent testing bodies and organizations. The brand's most-awarded cars include:

  • BMW 2 Series: Auto Motor und Sport, a German car magazine, named the BMW 2 Series the Best Compact Coupé for its distinctive design, agile driving dynamics and impeccably crafted interior.
  • BMW 3 Series: The latest BMW 3 Series awards have come from a variety of prestigious sources, including well-known European publications Auto Motor und Sport (First Place in Reader's Poll) and Diesel & EcoCar (Best Plug-In Hybrid Large Car). It also boasts accolades from Car & Driver, which named it to their Editor's Choice, Entry-Level Luxury Cars list.
  • BMW 4 Series: At the What Car? UK Car of the Year Awards for 2025, the BMW 4 Series conquered the competition as Best Coupe. It was praised for its unparalleled style, responsive handling and premium comfort.
  • BMW 5 Series: The BMW 5 Series is widely recognized, most notably winning the German Car of the Year for 2025, its victory determined by a panel of 40 automotive journalists. Their opinion was mirrored by the jurors for the 2024 World Luxury Car competition, in which 100 international automotive press members chose to crown the 5 Series as their winner among 13 highly compelling entrants.

    Other recent 5 Series awards have come from publications such as the United Kingdom's Fleet News (Best Executive Car) and Autocar (Best Hybrid, Autocar Award 2024).

  • BMW X1: The BMW X1 claimed victory in the Compact SUV category from the Best Cars 2025 poll by Auto Motor und Sport. It took home the trophy thanks to its efficient performance and upscale cabin.
  • BMW X3 & X5: Auto Zeitung, a German car magazine, hosted a reader's choice-style poll known as the Auto Trophy awards to crowdsource the best new cars and SUVs at certain price points. Readers awarded the BMW X3 and BMW X5 first place finishes in their respective categories.
  • BMW X7: The What Car? awards recognized the BMW X7 as Best Large SUV. The X7 stands out for its unmatched comfort, extraordinary spaciousness and impressive luxury amenities. These attributes, paired with its sport-focused personality, make it the gold standard in its segment.

BMW electric cars and SUVs have captured global admiration. Need proof? See below:

  • BMW i4, i5, i7 & iX:Car & Driver loves BMW EVs. The i4 was named one of their 2024 Editor's Choice, Electric Cars pick, while the i7 was included in the Luxury Electric Cars category. The iX was equally praised, and its inclusion in the Luxury Electric SUVs category puts it firmly on the map as a top choice.
